The Garden

Working with nature to create a haven of tranquillity

Rich soil and shelter from the prevailing winds have made the garden a haven for plants and wildlife. Rémy and Marie-Claude use no artificial chemical fertilisers, weedkillers or pesticides..

The hundred-year-old willow that shades the pond fell over about fifteen years ago, but continues to sprout strong new shoots every spring. Les fleurs : hydrangeas, roses, valériane, etc. sont d’origine souvent autochtone à l’image des variétés du verger conservatoire. Traditional hedges criss-cross the garden, dividing it up into secluded spaces for a stroll or a quiet read.

There is a strong emphasis on local plants. All the fruit trees in the Cour Cormont orchard are local varieties, as are ornamentals such as hydrangeas, roses and valerian.
